berlusconi-wins-2008-italy
In Italy, the Republican-like coalition, guided by Silvio Berlusconi, has won the Election.
Small italian parties has disappeared, and now in the political arena there are only two very big players:
"Pdl" (Partito delle Libertà) Republicans and Democratics leaded by "Pd" (Partito Democratico).
Veltroni, the Democratic leader repeat often the claim made by the Economist in July 2003, that Berlusconi was "unfit to govern."
I agree with the Economist, and I am very sad for what is happening in Italy.
For a deeper analisis, refer to the good "New York Times" article about Berlusoni winning election
